Duff: Trading For Eichel Doesn’t Make Sense For Red Wings | DHN+

Jack Eichel, Buffalo Sabres
It makes on sense for the Detroit Red Wings to pay the cost of acquiring Jack Eichel at this stage in the team's rebuild

Buffalo Sabres center Jack Eichel is a super talent, a solid point-a-game player. He’d be an asset to any NHL team.

That being said, if Eichel really is going to be moved by the Sabres this summer, GM Steve Yzerman of the Detroit Red Wings shouldn’t be lining up to make his pitch to acquire the 24-year-old center.

It’s not a move that fits into what Yzerman is planning for the team, for a variety of reasons.
