Detroit Red Wings Steve Yzerman will be a busy GM over the next couple of weeks
General manager Steve Yzerman is always buttoned up when it comes to providing information

Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman has long held a reputation for being guarded with his information. You have a better shot of learning what really happened in Roswell, New Mexico or Area 51 than getting Yzerman to reveal what’s happening behind the scenes.

That truth was on display Wednesday afternoon when the reporters figured out who every team lost to Seattle in the Expansion Draft except the Red Wings. Everyone can tune in to ESPN 2 tonight at 8 p.m. to find out who is leaving the Red Wings. As of 3:30 no one has figured it out.

Defenseman Troy Stecher, defenseman Dennis Cholowski, center Vladimir Namestnikov and left wing Evgeny Svechnikov are among the leading candidates.

Thus far, the Kraken have 15 forwards, three goalies and 11 defensemen. They could use another scoring center. Namestnikov scored nine goals last season.
