Steve Yzerman, Detroit Red Wings GM
Just 8 players remain with the Detroit Red Wings who were part of the organization prior to the arrival of current GM Steve Yzerman.

Tyler Bertuzzi is among a growing minority on the roster of the Detroit Red Wings. He was here prior to Steve Yzerman taking over as GM of the Red Wings – and he’s still here.

Threre’s not many of them left. Bertuzzi is one of just eight holders from the pre-Yzerman era on Detroit’s current NHL roster that is off to a 2-0-1 start to the 2021-22 season.

“Obviously it’s been a tough couple of years but that happens sometimes in sports,” Bertuzzi assessed of the team’s rebuild. “We have a lot of young guys coming in right now that are earning jobs and playing big roles that will help in the long run.

“Just the chemistry and getting everyone together, building from the core and out. It feels good to get off to this start. We just gotta keep it going.”
