Who Could Push Moritz Seider and Lucas Raymond for Calder? | DHN+

Detroit Red Wings, Lucas Raymond
Lucas Raymond the favorite for the Calder Trophy, but he will have to hold off teammate Moritz Seider and a crowded field down the stretch to win it

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider and left wing Lucas Raymond are runaway favorites in a crowded field of Calder Trophy candidates.  This is like having Seattle Slew and Secretariat in the same horse race.

Lucas Raymond is the +250 favorite at FanDuel and Seider is at +650.  Seider’s odds reflect that only five defensemen have won Rookie of the Year in the past 25 years.

Red Wings senior vice president Jim Devellano said Raymond reminds him a “little bit” of Steve Yzerman as a player.
