The Marc Bergevin Era may be coming to an end in Montreal. Reports say Jeff Gorton is taking over as director of hockey operations.

It’s been a wild couple of days in the NHL. The league put a pause on Islanders’ games because of Covid. The Los Angeles Kings’ Brendan Lemieux allegedly bit Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk. And then Scott Mellanby resigned as Montreal’s assistant GM.

That prompted speculation that the Marc Bergevin era is ending.

Today, TSN’s Darren Dreger is reporting on social media that former New York Rangers’ general manager Jeff Gorton will be taking over as Director of Hockey Operations.

Meanwhile, the NHL has offered Lemieux a hearing, meaning he is looking at the possibility of a significant suspension. Brady Tkachuk is irate about entire situation.
