As much as Lucas Raymond is providing excitement, in the long run, Moritz Seider will prove to be the most valuable Red Wings rookie addition.

Lucas Raymond is drawing rave reviews and deservedly so. The Detroit Red Wings forward is leading all NHL rookie scorers.

However, if the Red Wings are to become legitimate Stanley Cup contenders, Lucas Raymond isn’t the most important rookie addition to the Detroit lineup this season. That would be defenseman Moritz Seider and here’s why:
