Duffer’s Dabbles: Ex-Red Wings Goalie Hasek Calls For Sanctions Against Russia
There were plenty of great things about getting to cover Dominik Hasek during his time with the Detroit Red Wings. One was that you could always count on him to tell you what was on his mind.
Hasek is taking to Twitter to speak about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Once again, he isn’t pulling his punches. Firstly, The Dominator is calling for a complete ban on international sporting competitions in Russia. Secondly, he’s demanding the exclusion of Russia from international sports.
Vyjadřuji plnou podporu Ukrajině a jejímu lidu proti ruské agresi! Jsme s Vámi! I express my full support for Ukraine and its people against the Russian aggression! We are with you!
— Dominik Hasek (@hasek_dominik) February 24, 2022
“Russian national teams, all Russian clubs and all Russian athletes should be excluded from all competitions in NATO and EU countries,” Hasek tweeted. “Immediately cancel any participation in all international sporting events in Russia. And Russian athletes are not allowed to appear under the Russian flag anywhere in the EU!”
