A 2-5 mark against seven of the NHL's top teams has derailed the season for the Detroit Red Wings.

A few weeks back, the Detroit Red Wings were embarking upon a seven-game stretch against what at the time were seven of the top eight teams in the NHL standings. Here at Detroit Hockey Now, we assessed that this run of games would be the defining moment of Detroit’s season.

As things are turning out, this stretch didn’t so much define the Red Wings as it ended up destroying them.
