It was the hallmark of his first season: big plays, being in the right place at the right time, and continuing his upward trajectory within the Red Wings prospect pipeline.

Estimated Time of Arrival for the Red Wings

Buium is in a crowded prospect field for the Red Wings, especially on the blue line. But as written in DHN’s top ten prospect piece at defense, Buium already sits at fifth and is likely to find an entry-level contract offered during or after his sophomore season. he adds another wrinkle to what is shaping up to be an impressive prospect for the future.

A strong follow up to a dynamic freshman year, complete with a national title, should garner an entry-level deal for Buium next season. He may need some time in Grand Rapids, but he could get his NHL shot in 2023-24
