The Daily: GM on Hot Seat; Will Huberdeau Deal Cause Trickle Down Effect?

Published

Another day, another series of questions surrounding Philadelphia Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher and his job security. After a shaky offseason, and a horrendous 2021-22 season, the fanbase has seen just about enough in a very short time.

But where does Fletcher’s job security rank? Philly Hockey Now’s Sam Carchidi not only answers this but also other various Philadelphia Flyers topics in his recent podcast. The GM is a hot topic in Philadelphia and Carchidi is quite blunt after reviewing some of Fletcher’s trades.

Carchidi prefaces his final answer by saying marked improvement will keep Fletcher’s seat cool. But he certainly acknowledges the frustration of the fan base and bluntly states:

“If the players aren’t developing, and we see the same sad sack season we saw last year, you may see a change during the season.”

So starts the clock on Fletcher in Philadelphia.
