Sedins, Canucks
Which one is Henrik and which one is Danel? Good luck figuring out which Sedin is which.

Which Sedin is which?

Back when Tomas Holmstrom was with the Detroit Red Wings, he was getting ready to play for Sweden at the Winter Olympic Games. One day, I decided to ask him the question that every hockey fan would always be wondering about the Swedish national teams of that era.

Could Holmstrom distinguish between Daniel and Henrik Sedin?

“Nope,” Holmstrom answered. “When one of them comes up and starts talking to me, I say, ‘Okay, which one are you?'”

Evidently, the Sedins didn’t mind having fun about the confusion as to which brother was which. They even were willing to fool those in charge of the games.

Hockey Night In Canada broadcaster Kevin Bieksa, a former Vancouver Canucks teammate of the Sedins, revealed on Instagram that during preseason and all-star games, the Sedins would playfully switch jerseys to fool game officials.

If one Sedin brother was kicked out of the faceoff circle, he’d circle around amongst his teammates and then come back to the dot, hoping the official wouldn’t recongize that it was the same brother.
