Not all that long ago, there was a contingent of Detroit Red Wings fans who were wishing to see defenseman Jonathan Ericsson strung up in the rafters. Ericsson’s brother is about to get that treatment . . . well, his jersey will be, that is,

The older brother of former Red Wings rearguard Jonathan Ericsson spent his entire pro career in Sweden. He played 15 seasons for Skellefteå AIK, serving as team captain. Announcing his retirement in 2020, Ericsson finished his career with two SHL titles, an Olympic silver medal, and a World Championship gold medal.
Jimmie and Jonathan Ericsson were teammates on the 2010 Swedish team that won a bronze medal at the World Championship.
