The Daily: Red Wings Rasmussen Coming Back; No Such Luck For Bruins Krejci; Brattstrom To Toledo
Red Wings Michael Rasmussen returns from NHL suspension on Thursday
The Detroit Red Wings will be getting center Michael Rasmussen back from his two-game NHL suspension on Thursday when they play host to the Washington Capitals. The guy he high-sticked in the head to earn his two-game sitdown should be so lucky.
Boston Bruins coach Jim Montgomery was confirming that forward David Krejci (upper body) figures to be out at least two more games due to the after-effects of the Rasmusen high-sticking foul. Krejci won’t be playing Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins and is unlikely to be ready for Thursday’s game at Madison Square Garden against the New York Rangers.
Brattstrom Sent To ECHL Walleye
The AHL Grand Rapids Griffins evidently are wanting to get a longer look at what Sebastian Cossa can do between the pipes. Last week, when Victor Brattstrom was hurt in a game against the Toronto Marlies, the Red Wings were reassigning 2021 first-round draft pick and rookie pro Cossa from the ECHL Toledo Walleye to Grand Rapids.

Suffering his first pro defeat, Cossa made 19 saves in a 5-2 loss Saturday at the Texas Stars. Nonetheless, on Monday the Griffins were announcing that Brattstrom would be heading down to Toledo and Cossa is remaining in Grand Rapids.
The Griffins are playing Thursday at Iowa.
