Detroit Red Wings
The Daily: One Key Pens’ GM Candidate?; Red Wings Prospect Hot in Playoffs
Forward Alexandre Doucet may be the forgotten Detroit Red Wings prospect of this spring’s playoffs. He is currently averaging two points per game (five goals, 12 points in six games) for the Halifax Mooseheads in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoffs.
The Red Wings signed him as an undrafted free agent on March 1. Presumably, he will be headed to the Grand Rapids Griffins next season.
But Doucet’s emphasis today is on Game 3 of the Halifax best-of-seven series against Moncton. The series is tied 1-1 going into tonight’s game in Moncton.
Halifax acquired Doucet during the season to bolster the team’s offense. In 36 games with Halifax. Doucet scored 31 goals in the the regular season. Counting his previous production for the Val D’Or Foreurs earlier this season, Doucet had 58 goals and 115 points in 70 games in the QMJHL season.
Listen to apparently Peter Griffin call these goals by the newest Red Wings' prospect Alex Doucet. #LGRW #RedWings https://t.co/GR99UX1esP
