The Daily: Raymond Wears ‘A’; Broadcaster is New Flyers Boss
Detroit Red Wings forward Lucas Raymond is showing growth as a player, evidenced by Team Sweden’s decision to name him one of the alternate captains for the national team competing at the World Championships.
Former Red Wings players Jacob De la Rose is the other alternate captain. Anaheim Ducks player Jakub Silfverberg is the captain.
The Swedes open the tournament Friday with a game against Moritz Seider’s German team. USA, with Derek Lalonde as one of the assistant coaches, plays Finland on Friday.
Raymond has played impressive hockey in pre-tournament action. He posted three goals and three assists in three games at the Czech Hockey Games.
