The Daily: Orlov Could Return to Caps; Red Wings’ Doucet Piles Up Playoff Points
Right wing Alexandre Doucet will undoubtedly be a curiosity at next fall’s Detroit Red Wings’ training camp. The Red Wings signed him late in the season as an undrafted free agent from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
With a pro contract in his pocket, he has continued to put up noteworthy numbers in the postseason.
Doucet had a two goals and two assists Saturday to lift the Halifax Mooseheads to a 6-3 road win against the Quebec Remparts. That ties the best-of-seven QMJHL championship series at 1-1.
Doucet, probably headed to the Grand Rapids Griffins next season, has 12 goals, 14 assists for 26 points in 17 playoff games thus far in the postseason.
Counting the regular-season and playoffs, Doucet has scored 70 goals this season.
