The Daily: Cossa Facing Elimination; Dubas Mulls Penguins Job?

Sebastian Cossa, Red Wings

Six-foot-six Detroit Red Wings prospect goalie Sebastian Cossa is all that stands between the Idaho Steelheads and the end of the Toledo Walleye season.

The Steelheads upended the Walleye 4-3 Friday in Game 4 to take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven ECHL Western Conference Final.  Cossa should be in net tonight (7:15 p.m.) when the Walleye face their first elimination game of these Kelly Cup playoffs.

Idaho has beaten Detroit prospect goaltender John Lethemon twice in this series and Cossa once. But Cossa has the lone win against the Steelheads in the series. He posted 26 saves, including 10 in the third period, to beat the Steelheads in Game 3.

Cossa is 5-1 in the playoffs with a 1.84 GAA and a .934 save percentage. He’s facing a Steelheads team that posted an ECHL-best record of 58-11-1-2 in the regular-season.
