The 2024 NFL season is right around the corner, and Detroit Lions fans have high hopes after last season ended in OT of the NFC Championship Game.

The Lions are legitimate Super Bowl contenders for the first time in team history. So now’s the perfect opportunity to lock in some season-long NFL futures on the Lions before they kick off the 2024 season against the Los Angeles Rams.

Here are my top three Detroit Lions NFL futures.

NFC #1 Seed +600 (DraftKings)

The reigning NFC Champions, the San Francisco 49ers, are the shortest shot to gain the NFC’s #1 seed at +300, and I can buy the logic.

San Francisco is stacked at all offensive skill positions (with or without Brandon Aiyuk). The defense was a top-ten unit in 2023, allowing an average of 18.8 points per game. They don’t show any signs of slowing down.

The Lions, however, have a favorable schedule. They play 14 of 17 games inside a dome, giving QB Jared Goff and WR Amon-Ra St. Brown a massive advantage over Brock Purdy and Deebo Samuel.

Detroit and San Francisco square off on December 30, with the NFC’s first seed likely on the line.

DraftKings Sportsbook offers new players $200 in bonus bets after placing your first $5 bet. You’ll also receive one free month of NFL+ Premium as an added perk!

To Score 1+ Passing Touchdown in Every Regular Season Game +1200 (FanDuel)

The Lions came close to hitting this last season, scoring at least one passing TD in 16 of 17 regular season games.

Goff and company can give this bet another run in 2024.

The NFC North had only one team in the top half of passing defenses in 2023, the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings and Bears ranked 24 and 25, respectively.

The Lions also have games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Seattle Seahawks. These three teams ranked 28, 26, and 22 in passing yards allowed per game in 2023.

Jared Goff Regular Season Passing Yards Leader +1000 (FanDuel)

To say I’m high on the Detroit Lions’ passing offense is an understatement.

Detroit’s passing offense ranked third in 2023, averaging 259.7 yards per game. QB Jared Goff trailed only Tua Tagovailoa last season in total regular season passing yards with 4,517.

Goff’s primary weapons, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown and TE Sam LaPorta, combined for 284 targets in 2023. But the emergence of RB Jamyr Gibbs in the Lions’ passing attack will likely push Goff to the season lead.

As a rookie, Gibbs was third in passing targets with 71. Look for the Lions to turn him loose in year two and target Gibbs in the intermediate passing game for some valuable YAC.
