The Daily: Jarvis Deal Could Impact Raymond; Holl Wins Title
The Carolina Hurricanes signed Seth Jarvis to an eight-year contract paying him on average $7.9 million per season. Jarvis had a similar production (33 goals, 67 points) last season to Detroit Red Wings unsigned forward Lucas Raymond (31 goals, 71 points).
TSN is reporting that Jarvis has roughly $30 million in signing bonuses.
Both players are 22. Jarvis boasts 64 career goals in 234 career NHL games, while Raymond owns 71 goals in 238 NHL games.
The Jarvis signing comes at a time when there is no indication the Red Wings are close to re-signing Raymond.
