The Daily: Robertson Still Wants a Trade; Seider, Raymond Work Out Together

Nick Robertson, toronto maple Leafs

TSN reported that Nick Robertson hasn’t changed his mind about wanting the Toronto Maple Leafs to trade him.

“He still would prefer a change of address,” TSN hockey insider Pierre LeBrun said on TSN’s OverDrive. “But that has been slow going on that. Got a pretty powerful agent in Pat Brisson, but checking with a couple different people involved today, he’s training back home and waiting for a resolution.”

As a restricted free agent, Robertson wouldn’t be expected to show up at training camp unless he has a new deal.

Robertson is not the only RFA still unsigned: Detroit hasn’t re-signed Moritz Seider and Lucas Raymond, and the Boston Bruins still don’t have Jeremy Swayman under contract. Winnipeg’s Cole Perfetti is also a RFA.

Red Wings In Case You Missed It

Former Red Wings player Dominik Kubalik has signed to play in Switzerland, while Marc Staal retires to move into management. Bob Duff’s notebook covers multiple subjects.

Former Detroit defenseman Larry Trader dies at age 61.

A former SHL player and current analyst said he wouldn’t be surprised if Michael Brandsegg-Nygard makes the Red Wings this season.

Red Wings Offseason

Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider are working out together in Germany. These guys play different positions and their value to the Red Wings is different. But there is an advantage for the two players to compare notes in their dealings with GM Steve Yzerman.
