Detroit Red Wings
Red Wings vs. Predators: Lines, Notes, Starting Goaltender
The Red’Wings got off to a slow start in Thursday’s 6-3 loss to Pittsburgh, but the thing about an 82-game regular season is that there’s not much time to mope.
They’re back in action tonight when they play host to a Nashville Predators team that has high hopes for this season. The Preds signed Steven Stamkos as a free agent and locked up goalie Juuse Saros with a lucrative long-term contract in the off-season. They lost their opener 4-3 to the Dallas Stars. Stamkos’ was blanked in his Predators.
Cam Talbot will start in net for the Wings after relieving Ville Husso midway through Thursday’s loss.
The Red Wings also recalled Justin Holl from Grand Rapids to replace the injured Jeff Petry, who is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. He will play tonight. Albert Johansson will also make his NHL debut.
