The Daily: Another NHL Goalie Scores; ASP Chasing Record

Minnesota Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson became the 15th NHL goalie to score a goal, firing it down the ice for an empty netter late in a 4-1 win against the St. Louis Blues.
The Wild were technically on the power play when Gustavsson scored. But the Blues had pulled their goalie for an extra attacker.
Gustavsson is the first NHL goalie to score since Pittsburgh’s Tristan Jarry netted one on Nov. 30, 2023 against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
“They took a time out there with 30 seconds left or something and ‘Flower’ (Wild goalie Marc-Andre Fleury) looked up at the board and said, ‘You should probably try it if you get the chance,'” Gustavsson said. “He said, ‘You’re shooting, right?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, maybe I should.’
Gustavsson is the second Swedish goalie to score in an NHL game, joining Linus Ullmark (Feb. 25, 2023).

Red Wings In Case You Missed It
Detroit prospect defenseman Axel Sandin Pellikka is using his scoring prowess to chase SHL history.
Austin Watson and Justin Holl were sent back to Grand Rapids, but their stay may not be long. Holl played well replacing Jeff Petry. The Red Wings are also trying to add a bit more cap space.
Prospect Dmitri Buchelnikov‘s speed will be a welcome addition to the Red Wings when he finally arrives in the NHL.
Red Wings Extra
Expect Detroit lineup changes Thursday when the Red Wings play the New York Rangers at Little Caesars Arena. Injured Jeff Petry could return to the lineup. Likewise, defenseman Erik Gustafsson might be playing again after being a healthy scratch. Gustafsson was brought in to replace Shayne Gostisbehere on the power play, and Detroit’s power play is struggling.
