Former Colgate standout Carter Gylander (191st, 2019) posted 38 saves in his professional debut to carry the Toledo Walleye to a 4-2 triumph over the Bloomington Bison in ECHL action. Gylander’s night included some memorable stops, including one on a penalty shot.

The Red Wings signed Gylander last spring and he joined the Grand Rapids Griffins squad. However, he didn’t get into any games.
The 6-foot-5 netminder was impressive in the Red Wings’ Rookie Series games against the Dallas Stars before training camp. He stopped 29 of 30 shots in parts of two games to help Detroit down the Stars twice.
