Red Wings Dream Pairing is Nightmare for Opponents (+)

It’s a tall order these days for opponents to match up against the Detroit Red Wings’ No. 1 defensive pairing. It’s challenging to measure up against a twosome that stacks up to almost 13 feet between them.

The 6-foot-6 Simon Edvinsson and the 6-foot-4 Moritz Seider have long reaches that expand their ability to cover space.

“I think that’s definitely something we want to take as an advantage,” Seider said. “Stay tight together and then expand quickly if we have to. Don’t get out of position because we’ll cover a lot of ice and eventually they have to come to us anyway. So I think it’s just we just got to take it as a big, big plus for our game that obviously we can be in a lot of different spots on the ice.”
