The Daily: Blackhawks Need More From Bertuzzi; Lombardi on Roll
The Chicago Blackhawks were hoping for more production from Tyler Bertuzzi than they have received thus far this season.
After 10 games, the former Red Wings fan favorite has two goals, no assists and a weak plus-minus (minus-6). He hasn’t created a single 5-on-5 point.
The Blackhawks gave him a four-year, $22 million deal last summer with the idea he could make the team’s offense more dangerous. In Monday’s win against the Colorado Avalanche, Bertuzzi played with Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno. The unit was not on the score sheet in a 5-2 triumph against the Avs. Hall only has three points on the year.
With the Blackhawks sitting 27th in NHL scoring, the Blackhawks are eager to get Bertuzzi and Hall going. Bertuzzi had a slower start last season and still ended up with 21Â goals.
