The Daily: Walman Nets Six Points in Two Games; Scary Jets PP
Former Red Wings defenseman Jake Walman netted his first goal as a member of the San Jose Sharks and added two assists to help his team win back-to-back games.
Walman had three assists in Monday’s 5-4 overtime win against Utah, and then added three more points in Tuesday’s 4-2 win against the Los Angeles Kings. The Sharks had lost nine consecutive games before Walman started to carry the team offensively.
Suddenly, the Sharks (2-7-2) look more competitive.
Walman opened the scoring with a goal at 2:20 of the second period. In addition to registering six points, Walman was also plus-six over the past two games.

Red Wings In Case You Missed It
Red Wings trade defenseman to create cap space and another roster spot for a younger player. Albert Johansson will likely benefit from this deal.
Strong starts by Alex Lyon and Cam Talbot have helped the Red Wings overcome their shots on goal disparity. They are the only team in the NHL that gives up 10 more shots per game than they are generating.
Former Detroit player Tyler Bertuzzi is off to a slow start for the Chicago Blackhawks. But keep in mind, he started slowly for Toronto last season and ended up with 21 goals.
Red Wings Extra
Detroit’s next game is tonight against the Winnipeg Jets at Little Caesars Arena (7Â p.m., FanDuel Sports Network). The Jets had their season-launchin eight-game winning streak halted at eight games by a recent loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Here is the scariest concern for the Red Wings: the Jets boast a power play that owns a 44.7% success rate. The Red Wings have penalty killers who own the NHL’s thirdworst success rate of 66.7%.
