The Daily: What’s Up With Jake Walman?; ASP Leads Swedes
SJHN’s Sheng Peng is reporting that former Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jake Walman is now dealing with a second issue keeping him out of the San Jose Sharks lineup this week.
On Tuesday, Walman was a healthy scratch for non-hockey related reasons.
“No one is bigger than the team,” San Jose coach Ryan Warsofsky said Thursday. “We’re about the team, and getting better as an organization, our culture, our standards, is really all I can say to that.”
Then it was revealed Walman wasn’t playing Thursday because of an injury. The Sharks lost that game 5-2 to the Minnesota Wild.
The Red Wings traded Walman to San Jose before the 2024 NHL draft. Averaging almost 23 minutes per game, Walman has been one of the Sharks’ most effective players in the early going.
Warsofsky says Walman will travel on this road trip.#TheFutureIsTeal flies out tomorrow, I’ll see you all from New Jersey for practice on Saturday
