The Daily: Red Wings’ PP Better Than Ghost’s PP; Pens Trade Rumor
“Ghost” cannot float through walls. But the former Red Wings player has an eerie knack of finding seams in penalty killing schemes to rank second among NHL defensemen with 12 power play points. He’s one point behind Colorado’s Cale Makar.

Gostisbehere left the Red Wings last summer to sign a three-year deal worth $9.6 million. He’s on pace for 42 power play points this season. That’s 13 more than he put up for Detroit last season.
It’s not as if the Red Wings couldn’t live without Ghost. The Red Wings’ power play ranks sixth this season in the NHL, one spot ahead of the Hurricanes.

Coach Derek Lalonde’s players will have their hands full when playing the New Jersey Devils at 3 p.m. (FanDuel Sports Network). The Devils are 7-3 in their last 10 and boast a 9-4 road record. Note: Lucas Raymond has scored in each of his past four games. If he scores today, his goal streak would be the longest by a Detroit player since he had a five-game stretch in 2023-24. The 4 Nations Face-Off hopeful has also scored the winning goal in consecutive games and can become the 10th player in franchise history to do so in three straight contests. The last to achieve the feat was Johan Franzen in 2007-08.
