The Daily: Seider’s Big Hit Lifts Red Wings; Avs Get Ex-Detroiter
If you are trying to decide which Red Wings player was most instrumental in inspiring their shootout win against the Buffalo, you have multiple options.
Tim Robinson of Detroit Hockey Now wrote how rookie goalie Sebastian Cossa came off the bench to lift Detroit to a 6-5 shootout win against the Buffalo Sabres. He’s now 1-0 as an NHL goalie with a 2.67 GAA. He owns a 2.21 GAA in 14 games for Grand Rapids this season.
But Cossa had to share the spotlight with Moritz Seider, who seemed to make his mission to rally the Red Wings from a late two-goal deficit. His ledger showed the tying goal, an assist and three memorable hits, including a monster wallop against Jacob Bryson.

After Detroit’s loss to Colorado on Saturday, Seider said the team wasn’t playing well enough. He wanted more from everyone, including himself.
“We just (need to) come together as a team a little bit more, maybe cheer each other on, work a little bit harder in practice, find a little bit of confidence there,” Seider said, “and maybe and just, yeah, find a good reason why we want to beat teams and be on the winning side. And I think that just has to come from us. Nobody else can do that for us. “

The Red Wings (11-13-4) will be in Philadelphia Thursday to meet a Flyers team that hasn’t played as well at home as on the road this season. They are below .500 at home. If Cam Talbot isn’t ready to return from injury, would Lalonde go back with Sebastian Cossa? We won’t know until Thursday morning.
