For the past two games, Detroit Red Wings coach Todd McLellan has chosen to deploy Simon Edvinsson and Albert Johansson as the club’s second defensive pairing.

So far, he’s liking what he’s seeing.

“I thought Albert had even a better night the second night than the first,” McLellan said. “He hadn’t played for a while.”

Prior to suiting up for Saturday’s 4-2 win at Winnipeg, the Swedish rookie hadn’t played the previous four games.
