The Daily: Bertuzzi Fits Well With Bedard; Razor’s Zetterberg Vibe

Tyler Bertuzzi, Chicago blackhawks

The pairing of Tyler Bertuzzi and Connor Bedard is a marriage born out one of the NHL’s oldest offensive principles: Playing an elite center with a wing who drives the net is mutually beneficial for both players.

Bertuzzi and Bedard have been playing together for a while, and now they have joined by Michigan native Frank Nazar. It’s been an intriguing unit.

Former Red Wings player Bertuzzi has grown on Chicago fans.  As Red Wings fans can attest, Bertuzzi knows the way to the net. And Bedard can get the puck to his stick.

Bertuzzi has three goals and five points in his past three games. He scored his 17th goal Monday in a 4-3 overtime loss to Carolina. Over the past 14 games, he has nine goals and four assists for 13 points. Bertuzzi’s 17 goals over 47 games thus far puts him on pace for a 30-goal season.

Meanwhile, Bedard has a couple of goals over the past four games. Rookie Nazar, 21, has a couple of points over the past two games.
