The Detroit Red Wings time in a playoff spot could be two-night stay if the team doesn’t take care of business tonight the Seattle Kraken (10 p.m. ET, FanDuel Sports Network) in their final game of a four-game road trip.

The Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning, one point behind Detroit, both play tonight. The Bruins are home to face the Minnesota Wild and the Lightning are on the road against the Buffalo Sabres.  The Columbus Blue Jackets are tied with Detroit for the final two playoff spots.

The Kraken are in 28th place in the NHL overall, but this game is as important to Detroit as beating the Edmonton Oilers was earlier in this road trip.

The Red Wings just defeated Seattle 6-2, in Detroit on Jan. 12. The Kraken have lost four of their last six.

Finally all those SY picks are starting to blossom and bloom. We knew the 1st couple of years would be rough but now we can start getting the pipeline flowing with solid players (especially the D-core). Hopefully the forwards can continue to flow like the D-core and in 3 years become real serious playoff threat. Not to loose heart over the fill in gap players, next 2-3 years they will cycle out and hopefully a few nice strategic FAs can raise the level again.

Agree. To all those that questioned SY’s strategy, what say you now??
