Red Wings vs. Lightning: Notes, Lines, Goalies, How to Watch

The first half of theĀ regular season, such as it is, ends today for the Detroit Red Wings as they take on Tampa Bay at Little Caesars Arena.
The Wings are looking to stay in playoff contention with a win.
They are in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, a point behind sixth-place Tampa. but they’ve won seven in a row, and a win today would mark their longest winning streak since 2008,
Detroit has been off since successfully completing a four-game road sweep in Tuesday at Seattle.
J.T. Compher is expected to play today, and Dominik Shine has been returned to Grand Rapids, at least for now.
Emil Lilleberg, who laid the hit on Compher that sidelined him, is expected to play. It will ber interesting to see if there’s ay residual ill will that carries over to today’s game.
Meanwhile, the Red Wings’ start under Todd McLellan ius drawing attention from outside Detroit these days.
Today’s contest is the last game for two weeks for the Wings, thans to the 4 Nations Face-Off. Their nest game is at home against Minnesota on Feb. 22. Dylan Larkin (USA) and Lucas Raymond (Sweden) will represent the Red Wings.
It also could mark the NHL debut of former University of Michigan forward Dylan Duke, a fourth-round pick by the Lightning in 2021 who was recently called up. He had 13 goals in 36 games with the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch this season.
Duke’s brother, Tyler, will suit up for Michigan in the Wolverines’ Saturday night game with Michigan State, also in Detroit.
