The Daily: Larkin Does His Part in USA Win; Detroit Rumor

Whether Dylan Larkin has a starring role or he is working as an extra, he finds way to contribute to the success of the project.
The Red Wings captain played 11:14 on USA’s fourth line in helping produce a 6-1 triumph against Finland in the Americans’ first game in the 4 Nations Face-off.
Larkin played on the wing with New York Rangers’ Vincent Trocheck and New York Islanders’ Brock Nelson. All three players were penalty killers for USA.

Ottawa’s Brady Tkachuk (eight hits) was the only American to have more hits than Larkin (three hits). Larkin is wearing No. 21 in this international tournament.
With all of the power play success Larkin has known this season, it’s surprising he is not on either USA power play unit. He did play only 2:49 in the first period, but he played 5:16 in the third.
