Red Wings vs. Wild: Notes, Lines, Goalies, How to Watch

After two weeks off, schedule-wise, the Detroit Red Wings begin the final third of their 2024-225 schedule today, when they play host to the Minnesota Wild.
Wth the exception of Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond, who were busy with the 4 Nations Face-off, the rest of the team had a few days off before reconvening in Detroit for a minicap to get better acquaintingw themslees with coach Todd McLellan.
They now have to resurrect some of that momentum they had the first month-plus since McLellan’s arrival and stay in the chase for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Detroit goes into today’s game clinging to the eighth and final playoff spot, a point behind Ottawa and a point aherad of Columbus and Boston. The Rangers, Islanders, Flyers, Canadiens and Penguins aren’t that far behind
And there’s a possible sentimentl aspect to this matchup. It’s the last time fans will likely see Marc-Andre Fleury in uniform in Detroit after 20 years in the NHL.
There’s no guarantee he’ll play, but it would be fun for old time sake.
Larkin and Raymond shone in the 4 Nations Face-off, and the young players have shown they can play up to their potential.
