Detroit Red Wings
Red Wings vs. Utah: Notes, Lines, Goalies, How to Watch

A losing streak is never a good thing, but for the Red Wings, it’s crucial to stop this one in its tracks.
They’ll look to end this three-game skid tonight when they play host to The Team With No Name (the Utah Hockey Club) at Little Caesars Arena.
Both teams are fighting for playoff spots. The Red Wings are in 10th place in the East, a point behind Ottawa and the New York Rangers, who are tied for eighth. Utah is 11th in the West, four points out of a playoff spot.,
The Red Wings are an underdog tonight, going off at +110 on the moneyline, and NHL bettors at MGM like a low-scoring game (-135).
Tonight will mark the debut of Carter Mazur, the Jackson native who was drafted by the Wings in the third round of the 2021 draft. He’s the first forward from that draft to make it to Detroit. The other picks who have made the jump are defenseman Simon Edvinsson and goalie Sebastian Cossa.
Mazur missed the first half of the season with an upper-body injury but has 11 points, including seven goals, in his last 11 games in Grand Rapids.
While the Wings battle on the ice, GM Steve Yzerman will be busy as well, working against tomorrow’s trade deadline. After a three-way trade to net a fourth-round pick on Wednesday, the Wings signed Ann Arbor native Austin Watson to a one-year contract extension. He’s spent most of the season in Grand Rapids except for a couple of early-season games with the Wings in October.
After tonight, the Red Wings have 20 games remaining, but there’s plenty of action off the ice today and tomorrow heading into this final stretch.
