Detroit Red Wings
Red Wings at Hurricanes: Notes, Lines, Goalies, How to Watch

The Red Wings got a bit of their mojo back in Wednesday’s win over Buffalo. Now, it’s time to put it to work.
The Red Wings are at Carolina, which has won five in a row despite its own turbulence surrounding a recent trade. Both teams have gotten past the uncertainty that comes with the trade deadline.
The Wings prepared for tonight’s game the same way they prepped for Wednesday — by skipping the ice part of practice. They had meetings and workouts, but no skating, hoping that that little bit of respite leads to more energy at game time.
They are hoping, too, that Wednesday’s offensive output continues. During the six-game losing streak, they had scored more than two goals only once. Patrick Kane’s five points were the most by a Red Wing in six years.
The Wings are also benefitting from the evolution of Marco Kasper, who has become a presence in front of the net
They’ll need all of those guys down the stretch. They’re still only two points out of the playoffs with 17 games left. But they still have to. contend with the Blue Jackets, Rangers, Bruins, Canadiens and, on the outside, the Islanders and Flyers.
The Wings have two games in hand, and a win tonight would mean they have a chance to make the most of them.
