Red Wings vs. Golden Knights: Notes, Lines, Goalies, How to Watch

The Red Wings face a tough stretch starting Sunday, when they play host to the Vegas Golden Knights in a matinee at Little Caesars Arena.
The game starts a three-game run where the Red Wings play division leaders over the next few days, which will likely make or break their season.
Vegas, meanwhile, comes in after a 4-3 shootout loss at Buffalo Saturday. Coach Bruce Cassidy was in a foul mood.Â
That could indicate a slump. But the way things have gone for the Red Wings lately, that’s not likely. This is a team that ranks fifth in scoring (3.35) and ninth in goals-against (2.70). The Golden Knights have the league’s second-best power play efficiency (28.9%).
The Wings have lost seven of eight after Friday’s loss at Carolina, but with 68 points are still within striking distance (four points) of the New York Rangers (72) in the Eastern Conference wild card race. However, Montreal (71) and Columbus (70) are both situated between the Rangers and the Red Wings in the standings.
As well, with 16 regular-season games remaining, and only six at home, the sand is starting to run out of the hourglass.
Red Wings Deal Defenseman
The Wings made a deal on Friday, sending defenseman Tory Dello to New Jersey for future considerations.
Dello spent the season with Grand Rapids, with a goal and three assists. He was sent t0 the Devils’ AHL team in Utica.
The Wings made the move to make room for Anton Johansson, who signed with the team on Friday. New Jersey, meanwhile, is in need of defensive depth after losing Dougie Hamilton and Jonas Siegenthaler for the season to injury.
