The Daily: Red Wings Goalie Prospect Now 15-0; Detroit Hits Road

Last season, Detroit Red Wings had a 2023 seventh round draft pick Emmitt Finnie who played so well that GM Steve Yzerman signed the productive forward and gave him three games with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

This season, Detroit officials have watched with interest as the team’s sixth round pick from the same 2023 draft is also exceeding expectation.

Goalie Rudy Guimond (169th, 2023) raised his record to 15-0. He made 22 saves for the Moncton Wildcats in a 6-2 win against Acadie-Bathurst Titan in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League action. He now owns a 1.52 GAA and .948 save percentage.  Guimond started this season playing for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the United States Hockey League.

The Red Wings won’t be looking to sign Guimond right away because he has committed to play for Yale.
