Playoffs or Not, Red Wings Have Changes Coming (+)

Everyone has a theory on why the Detroit Red Wings’ playoff hopes continue to drift away, but players can usually boil it down better than most.
After their most recent 6-3 road loss to the Vegas Golden Knights, Detroit captain Dylan Larkin said:
“It’s hard to come in this building and expect to score seven goals.”
There it is.
The Red Wings just give up too many goals to win on a regular basis. They have surrendered four or more goals 33 times (47.8%) in 69 games. For a team scoring an average of 2.83 goals per game, and ranking 29th out of 32 teams in even-strength goals, that’s a disastrous statistic.
