Detroit Red Wings
Red Wings at Avalanche: Notes, Lines, Goalies, How to Watch

The Detroit Red Wings finish their three-game road trip tonight with a date with the Colorado Avalanche.
The Wings are coming off a win last night at Utah in which they scored on half their shots in the first two periods (four) and managed 14 on the night .
They’ll have to do a lot better than that tonight against a Colorado team that has gone 10-1-1 in its last 12 games.
It’s part of a gauntlet that has seen the Wings take on mostly division leaders (except Utah) the past week, and the Wings have suffered for it.
Goalie Petr Mrazek won’t be in the lineup after he was injured early in last night’s game at Utah. That means Cam Talbot, who didn’t dress Monday, will be in net, with Alex Lyon as his backup.
The Wings are in the midst of another March tailspin, needing another winning streak to keep their fading playoff hopes alive. With a dozen games left, they need help and to win at least nine of them to have a shot, and those nine won’t be easy.
But that’s why they play them. It’s not the way to bet, of coure, but hope is still there. It’s been a strange season of ups and downs, and there’s nothing saying — yet — that another streak is out of the question.
At least, not yet.
