Detroit Red Wings
The Daily: Red Wings Won’t Lose to Bruins, Right?: York Regrets

The small amount of hope the Detroit Red Wings have for making the NHL playoffs has been brought to you by the ongoing Montreal Canadiens’ struggles.
The Canadiens have now lost five in in a row, and given up 25 goals in those five losses.
Last night’s loss to Carolina, coupled with the Anaheim Ducks downing the New York Rangers in OT, means Detroit is still three points behind with 10 games remaining.
And tonight the Red Wings play a home game against a rebuilding Boston Bruins team that can’t beat anyone. They have lost seven in a row, giving up 5.1 goals per game in that span.
There’s no way the Red Wings lose to them tonight, right?
Red Wings In Case You Missed It
Detroit prospect Maximilian Kilpinen was released by his Swedish team.
The Red Wings presumably want to sign goalie Trey Augustine to a professional contract after his Michigan State team suffered a sooner-than-expected departure from the NCAA tournament.
Detroit prospect Axel Sandin Pellikka’s Skelleftea team can advance to the next round of the Swedish Hockey League playoffs if they win today. That obviously would delay his arrival in North America.
Red Wings Extra
The Red Wings (3-11 in March) play on national television tonight against the Bruins (8 p.m., ABC). Detroit is 0-1-1 against Boston this season, but haven’t faced the Bruins since losing 3-2 in overtime in Boston on Dec. 3. In case you have forgotten, the Bruins traded away Brad Marchand, Charlie Coyle, Brandon Carlo and Trent Frederic at the NHL trade deadline.
