How Close is Danielson to Being Red Wings-Ready? (+)

Marco Kasper and Nate Danielson share the distinction of being Detroit Red Wings’ first round draft picks, members of the brigade of GM Steve Yzerman prospects on a mission to restore competitiveness to the franchise.

Both are centers. Each is 20 years old. Danielson is five months younger. Kasper was the eighth pick in 2022 and Danielson the ninth pick in 2023. Kasper totaled 15 goals and 30 points playing 73 games for the Grand Rapids Griffins in 2023-24. Danielson shows nine goals and 32 points in 63 games playing this season for Griffins.

They sound like similar players. But they are actually worlds apart as prospects. And that goes beyond the geography of their birthplaces.
