Detroit prospect Rudy Guimond stayed unbeaten (19-0) by making 29 saves to help the Moncton Wildcats claim a 4-1 triumph against Baie-Comeau Drakkar in Game 2 of their Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League playoff series.

Moncton leads the best-of-seven series 2-0 going into Game 3 Tuesday in Baie-Comeau.

Guimond, heading to Yale next season, was 16-0 in the regular season after jumping to the QMJHL from the United States Hockey League. He is 3-0 in the postseason, sharing the net with Mathis Rousseau.

Guimond has enhanced his position among Detroit goalie prospects by posting a .940 save percentage in the regular-season and a .953 mark thus far in the postseason.

Because Guimond (drafted 169th, 2023) is heading to college, the Red Wings have additional time to evaluate him before signing him. He is a big goalie with strong positoning.

The Wings are pretty good at scouting goalies and defensmen. They just need to hire someone who can find scorers, and big mean guys that like to hit people.
