The Daily: Red Wings’ Rudy In Semis; Hughes Reunion?

Detroit Red Wings undefeated goalie prospect Rudy Guimond returns to action this week when his Moncton Wildcats play the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League Semifinals.
The No. 1-seeded Wildcats and No. 6 Huskies will start their best-of-seven series Thursday and Friday in Moncton. The Wildcats alternated goalies Guimond and Mathis Rousseau in the first two rounds, but coach Gardiner MacDougall could certainly shift to one goalie at some point.
Guimond has enjoyed a historic run of success since jumping from the USHL to the QMJHL early in the season. He was 16-0 in the regular season, and now is 5-0 in the postseason. His regular-season goals-against was 1.73 and his postseason GAA has been 2.02. His postseason save percentage is .922. He has better numbers than Rousseau.
The other QMJHL semifinal features Shawinigan playing Rimouski.
