The Daily: Ex-Red Wings GM on NYI List?; Philly Trade Target

Not long after the New York Islanders said Lou Lamoriello was out as general manager, hockey insider Darren Dreger dropped the name of former Red Wings GM Ken Holland as a candidate on X.
There’s no confirmation that the Islanders will look at Holland, but Holland, 69, does want to land another GM job. After he left the Edmonton Oilers, he worked as a consultant for the NHL’s Hockey Operations Department.
Whoever gets the Islanders job will be getting a middle-of-the-pack team that could easily be a playoff team team next season with some fine-tuning.
