Red Wings Johansson Has Summer To-Do List
Wants more after impressive rookie campaign

His impressive NHL rookie season in the rear-view mirror, Detroit Red Wings defenseman Albert Johansson knows one thing for sure. Those who stand still will be surpassed and overtaken.
It’s a dog eat dog world in the realm of professional sports and Johansson doesn’t intend to be the one caught wearing the Milk-Bone underwear.
In fact, he’s going home to Sweden with a summer to-do list of how to come back a better defender.
Albert Johansson is legitimately getting better every game. Out there against McDavid, imagine that at the start of the season. #LGRW https://t.co/y3wDrllmOT

Get bigger. Grow stronger. Up his offensive game to the next level.
“I think that’s one of the biggest things for me, to go home and have a good summer,” the 6-foot, 168-pound Johansson said. “I mean, I know I can get stronger. That will help my game if I get stronger. So that’s something I will work on.
“And then I think overall, just work on small things, like in my game, that I can improve and be a bigger part of this team and a better player.”
Red Wings Johansson Believes He Has More Offense In Him
One of those small things involve Johansson’s play when he’s got the puck in the attacking zone. In 61 games, he was good for 3-6-9 totals. He’s certain he can do better than that when it comes to the offensive side of the game.
There is evidence that he has more to give. Last season with the AHL Grand Rapids Griffins, Johansson scored six goals and accounted for 21 points. He was good for eight goals one season in the SHL with Farjestads.

“I think that comes a lot with confidence too,” Johansson said. “I mean, first of all, I just want to be a good defender, play good defensively and then I think from there offensive game will come.
“But I know I have some offensive game in my game and yeah, hopefully I can get more out of it next year.”
