The Daily: Ex-Red Wings Helping Oilers; Why Holland Saying ‘No’

The Edmonton Oilers playoff win in Game 2 against the Vegas Golden Knights is brought to you, in part, by the Detroit Red Wings alumni association.
Calvin Pickard made 28 saves and defenseman Jake Walman scored his first NHL playoff goal to help the Oilers beat the Golden Knights 5-4 in overtime to claim a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven playoff series.
Pickard, in the Red Wings organization from 2019-22, is now 6-0 for the Oilers in this postseason.

Pickard, always well liked when he was in Detroit, will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season.
Walman was plus-2 in Game 2 and is plus-11 during the Oilers’ current run. Walman has not had a minus game in this postseason. He has been plus in seven of Edmonton’s eight games.

Too bad it would have been fun to see old Holland wreck the Islanders. He would have got along about 5 minutes with that ego trip behind their bench. It’s going to be hard for them to find someone qualified who wants to work under Lou’s thumb.. Even Holland’s not that dumb…. Or is he?
