The Daily: Do Red Wings Have Shot at Marner?; Blashill Buzz

The Toronto Maple Leafs’ departure from the NHL playoffs signaled the start of the Mitch Marner sweepstakes. Detroit Red Wings faithful are among the many fans around the league who would like to see the 100-point scorer in their team’s lineup.
GM Steve Yzerman has the cap space and desire to sign a big-name free agent. The problem for the Red Wings is that Marner will have multiple options and is more likely to sign with a quality team than a team that has missed the playoffs for nine consecutive seasons.
The money is going to be similar no matter where he signs. One website ranks the Red Wings as the fourth most likely team to land Marner.
