“Lennyn Marie Larkin – you are our dream come true,” Kenzy Larkin posted on her Instagram account.
The announcement of the birth of their daughter comes just over a year since the Larkins lost their first baby in November of 2023.
“This week my wife and I said goodbye to our baby,” Larkin posted on his Instagram account at the time. “It’s hard to find words or positivity in this, but we greatly appreciate your support and understanding, and thank you for respecting our privacy.”
Larkin took a leave from the team while dealing with this family tragedy.
The Larkins were expecting a girl in April of 2024. They were married in August of 2023.
Red Wings Fans Delighted For Larkins
Considering the personal tragedy the family suffered in their previous attempt to become parents, there was naturally warmth and excitement being offered from the Red Wings fanbase.
“I’m so happy for Kenzy & Dylan,” posted Mary E Lemons on X (formerly Twitter). “She is a beautiful, precious little girl.”
Among those offering congratulations was Red Wings play by play voice Ken Daniels.
“Big congrats to the family,” Daniels posted on Instagram. “Beautiful.”
Julie Abdelkader, wife of Larkin’s former teammate Justin Abdelkader, was another offering warm wishes.
“I simply cannot handle this beautiful angel,” she commented on Larkin’s Instagram account. “Congrats to your sweet family. She is perfect.”
Former Detroit teammates Evgeny Svechnikov and Jakub Kindl and Ashley Bertuzzi, wife of Larkin’s close friend and former teammate Tyler Bertuzzi, were among others expressing their congratulations.
